We are now looking for a Senior Service Engineer, E&A to strengthen our skilled Region North Europe Field Service team. The role is offered as a permanent contract and the preferred location is Turku, but other Wärtsilä locations in Finland can also be considered.

 

In this exciting role, you'll have the opportunity to travel nationally and internationally, serving mainly our Nordic customer base, but with a global working field. Thus, we are looking for candidates with a strong Field Service mindset who are ready and willing to travel for approximately 160 working days per year.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

As part of the Region North Europe Field Service team, your daily work will revolve around performing commissioning, overhauls, troubleshooting, on-site repairs, audits, measurement, and analysis, as well as upgrades and retrofits, on marine and land-based installations with the newest Wärtsilä engines and equipment. Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Pre-commissioning and commissioning of Wärtsilä equipment with the latest automation and electrical technologies for marine and power plant installations.
  • Troubleshooting by identifying failures, adjusting and testing of installations, according to instructions and expected performance requirements.
  • Performing installation audits at various land and sea-based installations.
  • Preparing service reports and travel expenses on time in accordance with expected Wärtsilä quality.
  • Participating in and contributing to improvement of new products when performing warranty activities.
  • Actively promoting Wärtsilä products and services.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through performance and positive interactions with customers.
  • Continuously expanding your knowledge.

 

 

The below will enable you to succeed in this role:

 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical or Automation Engineering, or similar qualifications gained through work experience.
  • Significant experience with Wärtsilä 4-stroke engines, preferably in a service engineering context.
  • Positive, customer-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as under pressure.
  • Passion for learning new things, competence development, and keeping up to speed on the latest innovations.
  • Proficient English and Finnish language skills, both verbal and written (Swedish language skills will be considered an advantage).
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel globally.
