We are looking for a Site Manager with a main responsibility in Managing Power Plant construction jobsite abroad. The preferred location for this position is Finland, but the assignments for jobsites are globally abroad (100% travelling abroad).
Your role and responsibilities
As a Site Manager your work will include managing and supervising a newbuild power plant construction site abroad (100% travelling).
In between the assignments, office work can take place when preparing a new project for mobilization.
You will be working as a part of power plant project execution team with diverse expertise.
Requirements for the position:
- Plan, lead and manage project site execution
- Build and maintain good customer relationship.
- Lead Wärtsilä team at site.
- Accountable of project construction management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare site mobilization and execution plan.
- Manage site administration, organization and resource plan.
- Ensure all construction and installation activities are planned and coordinated.
- Facilitate and ensure the use of Last Planner System.
- Manage site execution schedule and follow the progress of activities.
- Ensure local laws and regulations are followed.
- Ensure site induction is carried out for all personnel working at site.
- Organise meetings at site.
- Establish and maintain good site reporting practises.
- Ensure accurate and timely collection of work progress reports.
- Highlight the economical construction and cost saving working procedures.
- Manage site budget and costs.
- Participate in subcontracting and local purchases.
- Safeguard the compliance with Quality and HSSE policies and minimize risks at site execution.
- Ensure the quality control at site.
- Manage site demobilization activities.
- Ensure that contractual requirements are fulfilled, and plant is handed over to the customer.
Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. education in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical etc.)
- Extensive experience in construction projects abroad
- Good track records of successful executed projects in leading positions
- Further education and experience in construction management and project execution
- Good written and oral language skills in English, other languages skills in an advantage
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Systematic approach in project documentation, financial cost follow up, Quality and Environmental
- Experience and qualifications for international Health, Safety & Security procedures (EHSS) for a construction site.
- Ready to work abroad over 250 days per year.
- Eligible for visa and work permit requirements for our project destination countries
