Tools Expert, Field Services

We are now looking for a Tools Expert, Field Services to join our Tools & Integration team in Global Field Services. The role is offered as a permanent contract and will be based in Turku, Finland. Given the nature of the work, you will spend approximately 80 % of your working time at the IndustryCity office, with the flexibility to work remotely one day per week.
What will you be doing?
As a Tools Expert, you will have ownership of the Global Field Services tools processes at our IndustryCity office in Turku, ensuring the quality and availability of tools. In this versatile role, you will coordinate tool related activities, perform calibrations, handle procurement and logistics, and continuously interact with customers and stakeholders. You will also maintain our systems and processes while actively identifying improvement areas and initiating development activities.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining and developing Field Services Tools Management (FSTM) and related processes to ensure efficient operations.
- Updating and maintaining tools booking and return processes.
- Coordinating and performing tools calibration activities for internal stakeholders, ensuring tool quality and timely calibration.
- Inspecting returned tools.
- Coordinating logistic activities at the IndustryCity warehouse.
- Purchasing tools, consumables, and services in accordance with specified processes in SAP (WeBuy).
- Participating in the collection and evaluation of tool development needs and ideas, forwarding them to relevant stakeholders.
- Acting as point of contact for Field Services tools stakeholders in Turku.
- Building and maintaining networks with internal stakeholders, including various departments and teams, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
The following will enable you to succeed in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical education.
- Strong understanding of tools calibration and maintenance processes.
- Proactive and organised way of working.
- Can-do attitude and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Passion for continuous improvement and drive to develop processes.
- Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in English and Finnish, both written and spoken.
- MS Office skills.
In addition, as an ideal candidate you:
- Have experience with SAP, particularly MM and WM modules.
- Are familiar with Wärtsilä Field Service operations and ways of working.
- Have experience with and knowledge of 4-stroke engines.
