We are looking for a MANUFACTURING MANAGER to join Lock-N-Stitch, Inc. (LNS) – a subsidiary of Wärtsilä North America, Inc.. This position will be located in Turlock, California, USA.


What will you be doing


As a MANUFACTURING MANAGER, you will lead the manufacturing team and oversee maintenance operations.  The ideal candidate will have a 4-year degree, OSHA/EPA knowledge and experience in manufacturing.


As a MANUFACTURING MANAGER, you will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing team and maintenance operations to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, and capital.
  • Meet business objectives and production schedules while ensuring quality standards that will meet or exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Continually improves safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.
  • Assesses, trains, and leads department personnel, providing motivation, support, and guidance to promote career growth.
  • Verify that personnel are carrying out work as per schedule, to company and customer specification, assigning work per employee’s capabilities.
  • Conduct internal audits and assist in external audits.
  • Comply with and enforce internal Quality Management Systems.
  • Provide feedback and participate in annual developmental discussions with all department personnel.
  • Maintain department training records, present department training, implement/enforce internal policies and procedures.
  • Conduct department risk assessments of processes and tasks.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Promote health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities.
  • Support process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with company and customer quality standards.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers
  • Monitor any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
  • Promote, maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Experience in production environment
  • Experience in supervisor/managerial experience, preferably in production/manufacturing
  • Manufacturing machine shop experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
  • 4-year degree, business, technical or engineering field or equivalent mix of education and experience preferred
