Wärtsilä Finland Oy, Energy Business is looking for a Manager, Business Development to cover Americas Area for Energy Storage, Solar and Integration Business Unit.

 

The location for this position is in USA; Emeryville or Herndon preferred, Houston and Annapolis also possible.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • In close co-operation with Area Sales utilise value concepts & tools defining the right Energy Storage System (ESS) and/or hybrid value solutions for each individual project opportunity
  • ESS user case definitions & financial analysis
  • Further development of value quantifying tools
  • Help to develop new business models also involving service solutions
  • Strongly support market development and individual sales opportunities in AMER area, particularly in North America
  • Proactive Business Unit (BU) link to Areas and other internal stakeholders
  • A specialist for commercial solutions for ESS and hybrid contracts
  • Ensure compliance of our sales activities with Wärtsilä internal business processes
  • Ensure high level customer relationship management
  • Active engagement with local and global consultants to promote and educate on Wärtsilä energy storage and hybrid solutions
  • Manage and coordinate Life Cycle support solutions (O&M offering) for the storage and hybrids as required
  • Energy storage ambassador and a speaker/presenter in conferences

 

Requirements

  • Understanding customers business, energy storage and hybrid value propositions
  • Comprehensive understanding of the energy sector
  • Understanding of energy storage financing, construction, operation and economic drivers
  • Good value selling understanding
  • Understanding sales financials
  • Understanding of renewable business, particularly solar
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player attitude internally and externally
  • Entrepreneurial drive with hunter mind-set
  • Willing to travel up to 60% of the time
  • Good understanding of ESS main equipment (bi-directional inverters, various battery chemistries, integration and Energy Management System)
  • Strong written and oral skills. Must be a proven and competent English writer
  • Energetic and convincing presenter
