Wärtsilä North America, Inc., Voyage Solutions Services is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Sales Support Engineer position located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  We are seeking to find an energetic, positive, customer-oriented and proactive individual.  This position will report directly to the Sales Manager Americas.

 

Wärtsilä Voyage Solutions is a global leader in Navigation, Communication and Automation in the Marine Market.  We are a full-service company offering our clients a complete solution from design to aftersales maintenance and support on a global basis.

 

The Sales Support Engineer translates technical solutions into commercial proposals, supported by the technical team.  As a Sales Support Engineer, qualified candidates will be responsible for responding to customer requests for quotation.  The ideal candidate must be self-driven with a desire for growth and possess the ability to create proposals by researching prices from our internal and external suppliers and quickly responding to our customers with quotations. Upon receipt of purchase order, it should be reviewed, processed and handed over to the operational team.

 

Qualified candidates will interface with colleagues in other departments and locations while being a part of a dynamic sales driven environment.  To be successful, qualified candidates will be adept at multi-tasking, organized, detail-oriented and flexible enough to deal with ever-changing deadlines. The ideal candidate will communicate well with others, enjoy working in a team and be a valuable company representative.

Responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Enter Opportunities into the CRM (Salesforce) and Maintain.
  • Prepare Sales Funnel reports for Management from CRM.
  • Prepare quotes for customers and follow-up in a timely manner.
  • Ensure consistent proper Proposal tracking, documentation, and quality for all proposal produced by team.
  • Follow-up open sales opportunities.
  • Source products; researching pricing from established suppliers.
  • Enter orders and expedite to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Provide support in the development of project proposals.
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management.

 

Minimum Experience and Educational Requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Sales or technical experience in Automation or Navigation systems, preferably within the cruise or marine industry or a combination of education and experience 3 or more years desired.
  • Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
  • Strong computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Independent, responsible, self-motivated, driven, personable and well-organized. Does not require strong supervision.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Languages:

  • Fluent in English (written and oral).

 

Travel:

  • Qualified candidates must be willing to travel occasionally domestically and internationally and work in a global team of professionals.
