Wärtsilä's Energy Business is now looking for a Director for Energy Storage. The preferred location for the position is in Houston but could be open to other core US sites.  This position would report to the Vice President, Americas.


In this position, your main responsibilities are to:

•    Create a winning strategy for profitable ESS growth in the US business in alignment with Energy business strategy
•    Understand the customer segments and leading players and create targeted strategies to build strong relationships with leading accounts 
•    Ensure customer focus, managing customer relations and establishing key decision maker connections and increasingly win repeat business
•    Understand customers' business models, project revenue streams, and key decision factors
•    Work collaboratively with ES&O Business unit to understand market trends and create best strategies to position Wärtsilä for success in the market
•    Execute necessary action and positioning to create demand for Wärtsilä ESS solutions and services and create reliable sales forecast
•    Lead ESS opportunity screening
•    Develop win/loss summary analyses including lessons learned
•    Ensure team members lead contract discussions all the way through to signing and hand-off to delivery
•    Follow projects until CoD becoming the customer advocate in delivery disputes
•    Enhance co-operation between own function, ES&O Business Unit, delivery organization and product management 
•    Lead business efficiently and in a sustainable manner
•    Lead towards high performance culture through constantly challenging the status quo, developing the ways of working and leadership within own team. 
•    Ensuring know-how and professional competence development and optimal resourcing for the business


As an ideal candidate you should have a relevant degree and at least 10 years of suitable experience, often in a leadership role; as well as extensive knowledge in the Renewables industry/Energy Storage industry and experience in running multi-stakeholder P&L.
