Energy Business Director, Engine Power Plants

Wärtsilä's Energy Business is now looking for a Director for Engine Power Plants. The preferred location for the position is in Houston but could be open to other core US sites.  This position would report to the Vice President, Americas.


In this position, your main responsibilities are to:

•    Create a winning strategy for profitable Engine solution growth in the Americas' Region North in alignment with Energy business strategy
•    Ensure customer focus, understanding customers' business drivers, managing customer relations
•    Understand market trends, carry out necessary action and positioning to create demand for product and services and create reliable sales forecast
•    Lead business efficiently and in a sustainable manner including e.g. market development, sales (including origination), and services delivery
•    Ensure the Business region's Order intake for Energy Business New Build, service Agreements, service Projects, Parts and Field Services Business
•    Ensure timely delivery of the Energy Business New Build, Service Agreements, Service Projects, parts and Field Business in coordination with Area functions.
•    Ensure contract fulfilment with time, cost and quality
•    Develop Area's customer relationships and customer understanding and relationship management and drive value selling within your business. Ensure Wartsila Customer Experience
•    Lead towards high performance culture through constantly challenging the status quo, developing the ways of working and leadership within own team. 
•    Ensuring know-how and professional competence development and optimal resourcing for the business


As an ideal candidate you should have a relevant degree and at least 10-15 years of suitable experience, often in a leadership/executive role; as well as extensive knowledge of the flexible gas power plant business and experience in running multi-stakeholder P&L.
