Field Service Technician - American Hydro Corporation

American Hydro is looking to add to our growing and talented Field Service team.  Do you like to travel for work instead of sitting in an office?  Are you experienced on hydro rehab projects and have a passion to contribute your knowledge and skills to a small but mighty team?  Read on to see if this might be the opportunity for you!

•    Associates Degree with one to two years related experience or high school degree with 5 years experience in hydro rehab work


•    Accountable for the safety, cost performance, schedule and quality of a site hydro project.
•    Accountable as the primary customer interface at the site.


Main Responsibilities: 
•    Field Service Technician serves as primary contractual and managing contact with customers on-site during a Field Service project.  
•    Acts as the site superintendent and is responsible for hydro turbine and generator disassembly, field machining, reassembly, alignment and commissioning of the units.  
•    Responsible for managing assigned projects within budgeted cost and schedule requirements.  
•    Liaison between customers and the American Hydro Project Manager and Project Engineer. 
•    Supervises assigned Field Service Foremen and associated craft labor at a hydro project. 
•    Manages mechanical and electrical subcontractors at site:  Labor, Generator, Balance-of-plant, etc.
•    Performs project planning prior to outage.  Monitors and updates Project Management and Field Service Manager with progress, schedule changes, problems, and customer correspondence. 
•    Maintains and submits project documentation per the contract requirements. 
•    Coordinates Field Service shipping, activities and schedules to meet Field Service and shop requirements.  
•    Satisfies Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements as it relates to these tasks.


Development Responsibilities: 
•    Development of process improvements for site operations including disassembly, re-assembly, machining and welding operations.


•    Resolution of personnel issues at site to include disposition of all craft labor contracted for the project.
•    Site purchases.
