Regional Sales Manager - American Hydro Corporation

American Hydro Corporation is seeking a Regional Sales Manager - Southeast and Central Region US.  This position will work from home, and will preferrably be located within the territory, including the US States of AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, VA, WV, OH, KY, TN, MS, LA, TX, OK, AR, KS, MO, NE, IA, ND, SD, MN, WI, IL, IN. 

Responsible for developing business opportunities and achieving order intake targets within the territory including the US States of AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, VA, WV, OH, KY, TN, MS, LA, TX, OK, AR, KS, MO, NE, IA, ND, SD, MN, WI, IL, IN

Develop Key Account Management strategies for the key customers within the territory, allowing company to fully understand the customer organization, its influencers and the decision making process

Be the face of the company and a valuable resource to each customer in the territory

Work closely with the Proposal Leader on proposals within the territory to develop winning strategies for projects

Develop opportunities from inception through booking

Manage all aspects of the customer relationships for all customers within the assigned territory

Escalate all issues as soon as the issues are known that will affect this relationship

Establish and maintain liaison with associated suppliers, contractors, consultants, EPC firms, etc. that affect the customers and the order intake volume for the assigned territory

Establish and maintain liaison with U.S. companies and government agencies involved in assigned business areas that affect the regional customers

Review technical and commercial requirements of customer requests for proposals

Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals which are consistent with company objectives and customer requirements

Assist in the negotiation of final contracts with customers

Perform role of principle customer contact from the bid stage through finalization of the contract award

Maintain customer contact and relationships through the contract execution phase in support of the Project Manager

Solicit bids from major subcontractors as required to support proposal preparation

Coordinate bidding partners in the event of joint venture proposals

Attend trade shows and all regional events relating to the territory customer base

Keep abreast of market forces, activity and trends through review of literature and contact with industry personnel

Work with Wartsila professionals from other business lines and divisions to support cross selling and expand the Wartsila footprint in the territory


Successful candidate should have Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training.  Experience must be in hydro, with knowledge of large rotating machinery, and utility operational and maintenance experience is a plus.

Successful applicant must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.  Relocation is not provided for this position.  Position requires extensive travel at times.
