(Senior) Automation Engineer

We are now looking for a (Senior) Automation Engineer to strengthen the T&V Test Services, Emissions & Automation team.

We operate in the STH Plant, consisting of test cells in Hub and Research Lab, as well as in the fuel storage area. We strive to continuously develop the infrastructure and testing capabilities in our premises. You’ll be working as a part of a dedicated team with diverse expertise.The location for this position is located in Vaasa, Finland.

Responsibilities:

• Give support to engine test teams in automation related matters in STH factory test run when production and laboratory engines are being tested and validated
• Develop control strategies and sequences, by defining technical specifications and by making updates in PLC-systems
• Keep HMI systems updated and educate the users
• Ensure measurements are carried out correctly
• Perform troubleshooting and finding corrective actions when problem arises
• Compile and analyse automation related data, making reports and presentations
• Participate in technical meetings according to need

Requirements:

• Relevant technical education (BSc or MSc or equivalent in Automation or Electrical engineering)
• Good understanding of technology and product development. Knowledge about Wärtsilä engine product family, systems and solutions is seen as a benefit.
• Strong internal motivation, passion for execution and getting things completed
• Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of IT and OT networks and cyber security aspects  
• Good teamworking skills
• Proactive and self-going person with a doer’s attitude
• Good English and Finnish knowledge, Swedish knowledge is an advantage
• Structured way of working and planning
• Willingness to learn and adapt
