(Senior) Automation Engineer

We are now looking for a (Senior) Automation Engineer, safety systems to strengthen the T&V Test Services, Emissions & Automation team.

 

We operate in the STH Plant, consisting of test cells in Hub and Research Lab, as well as in the fuel storage area. We strive to continuously develop the infrastructure and testing capabilities in our premises. You’ll be working as a part of a dedicated team with diverse expertise. The location for this position is Vaasa, Finland.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan changes and updates in the gas detection system of the STH Plant
  • Carry out programming of PLC-based gas detection system
  • Carry out updating, maintenance and testing of the Emergency Shutdown system in the STH Plant
  • Support audits, assessments, and safety reviews for continuous improvement of safety practices
  • Maintain and update the documentation of the safety instrumented systems

 

Requirements:

 

  • Relevant technical education (BSc or higher in Automation, Electrical, Process engineering or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of technology and process safety. Knowledge about Wärtsilä engine product family, systems and solutions is seen as a benefit.
  • Strong internal motivation, passion for execution and getting things completed
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good teamworking skills
  • Proactive and self-going person with a doer’s attitude
  • Good English and Finnish knowledge, Swedish knowledge is an advantage
  • Structured way of working and planning
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
