(Senior) Design Engineer

We are now looking for a (Senior) Design Engineer to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Vaasa, Finland.
What you will be doing
You will be part of an open flexible supporting team, participating and designing not only the delivery projects but also supporting development towards new innovative solutions and designs for cross-business line products, new products, automation systems, cyber security, new fuel types, etc.
As a Design Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Engineer solutions and create drawings for electrical & automation systems according to the contracted scope for delivery projects to our marine and offshore customers.
- Take part in the project execution through correspondence and participation in meetings with customers as a member of the delivery project team(s).
- Support customers in delivery scope-related electrical & automation enquiries
- Co-ordinate and specify design and deliveries from sub-suppliers
- Provide technical support for our sales- and purchase organizations in the field of electrical & automation
- Participate in internal Marine Power (/Power Supply) development projects
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical or automation engineering, or equivalent
- Working experience within the electrical or automation field
- Knowledge of the marine/shipbuilding industry is seen as an advantage
- Good technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in the English language, both written and verbal
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to work independently
- Responsible, flexible, proactive, stress-resistant and planning skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to occasionally travel
