(Senior) Development Manager

In Parts and Field Services, Business Performance Development team we are looking for a Development Manager focusing on Technical Services. Key responsibilities are to ensure end-to-end TS process and business application development, aiming for standardized ways of working for the function across all products, ultimately benefiting end customers. Depending on experience this role could potentially be offered as a Senior position.


In this position, you report to the General Manager of Business Performance Development, with a dotted-line report to the General Manager of Process Development and Assurance in Technical Services.


You'll be part of a passionate development team that drives end-to-end business performance development from sales to delivery. In your daily work, you will work closely with team members across regions, business functions, and information management, with a specific focus on Technical Services business applications, processes, and operations.

Operationally this role works within the global business unit when the hired candidate is based on a European time zone. Ideally you would be situated in our Sustainable Technology Hub in Vaasa, Finland, but other main European centres would be considered (For Example Trieste, Italy)

 

In this role your main responsibilities are:

  • Supporting and developing Technical Services Processes and Business applications, from feasibility study to implementation and continuous support/development in cooperation with key users.
  • Ensuring global implementation and harmonisation of processes, procedures, way-of-working and Business Applications.
  • Analyse and gather feedback on processes, systems and ways of working, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Applying Wartsila Continuous Improvement methodologies as per need.
  • Involve key stakeholders in the development projects and initiatives.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and input, keeping them informed about ongoing development.
  • Create awareness, document, train, consult and advice the Technical Services organisation in term of processes, procedures, way-of-working, guidelines, tools and systems.
  • Responsible for performance management, i.e. to establish ways to follow up the realisation of the business case.


Main requirements in this role are:

 

  • Keen interest in understanding end-to-end Technical Services processes and business applications.
  • Customer mind-set and close stakeholder collaboration.
  • Solid background in process & business applications development, implementation and maintenance.
  • Strong skills in Wärtsilä core systems like SAP, Salesforce and M-Files are seen as advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of Field Services processes and tools are considered an advantage.
  • Strong influencing and communications skills.
  • Strong project management skills (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Experience in change management, preferably on global scale.
  • Understanding of Wärtsilä business, market and customers would be an advantage.
  • Excellent command of English, both oral and written.
  • Reporting development skills in Power BI are considered an advantage.
  • The ideal candidate has an MSc or BSc degree in IT, engineering or business administration and some years of work experience in organisational / process development environment, also in demanding, multi-cultural environment.
