(Senior) Technical Sales Support Manager, E&A

We are looking for a (Senior) Technical Sales Support Manager, E&A with an electrical and/or automation background to join the Technical Sales Support team in Wärtsilä Energy Business. The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Vaasa, or Turku, Finland. This is a permanent role and we offer the possibility for hybrid work. This role requires occasional travel.

 

 

Your role and responsibilities


As a (Senior) Technical Sales Support Manager, E&A, your work will mostly include techno/commercial sales support for front-end sales and proposal team colleagues within your area of expertise, as well as participation in customer clarification meetings. You will work as part of the Technical Sales Support team with diverse expertise.

 

 

Your work will focus on the following responsibilities:

 

  • Support proposal management and business development managers with techno-commercial proposals and other proposal, design, and engineering documentation
  • Ensure that technical offer and contract documents are aligned with each other
  • Support Business Development Managers in building value, uncovering customer needs and requirements, and proposing the technical setup of products, systems, and solutions
  • Support proposal management with clarifications, deviations, risk management, and mitigation of technical RFQ specifications and project requirements
  • Participate in or lead technical clarifications and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders within your own discipline when required
  • Perform technical and commercial evaluations of supplier offer
  • Provide input and/or participate in product, system, and solution development activities
  • Support and participate in Win/Loss sales project analysis

 

 

To succeed in this position, we expect you to have:

 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
  • 10 years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
  • Cultural knowledge and excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive mindset, cost awareness, and strong organizational skills
  • The ability to communicate in English; other languages are considered a benefit

 

 

Professional skills:

 

  • Technical know-how in electrical & automation disciplines, including medium-voltage systems, low-voltage systems, protection relays, PLCs, SCADA, and HMI
  • Experience in system modelling, transient load analysis, hybrid power systems, or advanced electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of power generation and power grids is considered an advantage
  • Understanding of cost estimation technologies
  • Requirement, risk, and opportunity management
  • Cost awareness and effectiveness within your own field of expertise
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and solutions
