Wärtsilä Shared Service Centre (WSSC) supports the Wärtsilä companies in financial accounting and other operational tasks and acts as a gatekeeper to ensure compliance. We are now looking for an Accountant to join our energetic and customer-oriented Accounts Payable team working for a better future. This is a temporary position for 12 months. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa (Finland). We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.

Your role and responsibilities:

As an Accounts Payable Accountant your work will include handling incoming purchase invoices, solving issues and being in contact with various Wärtsilä teams and suppliers to improve the end-to-end process.  You’ll be working as a part of a committed and energetic Accounts Payable team with diverse expertise. You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independency, as you will have the support from the team. 

For us to be the best match, we expect you to have a good understanding of accounting and experience from working in a customer-facing role. As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience from the purchase-to-pay process and have a degree in accounting or other business-related field. For you to succeed in this position, we hope you have a mindset for continuous improvement and are open to learning new skills, such as RPA. 

Requirements for the position: 

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a Commercial field: Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or similar
• Systematic and organized way of working 
• Self-driven and development-oriented attitude
• Good knowledge of English with other language skills considered as a benefit
• The right to work in Finland
