Wärtsilä Global Business Services (WGBS) provides reliable, scalable, and standardized services to support core business operations. WGBS partners with businesses drive continuous improvements in end-to-end processes for enhanced effectiveness, quality, efficiency, and compliance.

 

WGBS Invoice to Pay Travel team is now looking for an energetic and service-minded Accountant. The position is temporary for 18 months and is located in Vaasa, Finland.

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Checking travel and expense reports according to the agreed time schedule and ensuring prompt payment
  • Verifying that travel and expense reports are created according to Wärtsilä Global Travel Policy and according to local legal requirements
  • Act as a gatekeeper to ensure compliance
  • Verifying that travel and expense reports are booked to the correct G/L accounts
  • Verifying exchange rates and that VAT deductions are made correctly
  • Informing travellers about possible errors and correction needs
  • Supporting local travel contact persons, and other internal and external partners and providing help for Wärtsilä travellers
  • Continuously improving the process within own responsibility area
  • Give input to robotic process automation (RPA)
  • Other tasks related to monitoring and quality control  

 

To be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have
 

  • Financial education – M.Sc or B.Sc in Financial Accounting 
  • SAP Concur and SAP Financial Accounting module knowledge and experience of similar tasks are an advantage 
  • Experience working in a Shared Service Center with financial processes
  • Good knowledge of VAT regulations 
  • Systematic and organised way of working
  • Positive attitude and proactive thinking
  • Self-driven and development-oriented  
  • Flexibility, good team working skills and fast learner
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of English and Finnish or Swedish; other language skills considered an advantage
