Wärtsilä Shared Service Center (WSSC) supports the Wärtsilä companies in financial accounting or other operational tasks and acts as a gatekeeper to ensure compliance. WSSC is striving for harmonized one global Wärtsilä way of working worldwide with high quality, timely, effective and efficient processes.

WSSC is sharing best practices and knowledge with focus on continuous development and operational excellence.

 

WSSC Travel team is now looking for two energetic and service-minded Accountants. These positions are located in Vaasa, Finland. One position is temporary for one year and the other one is permanent.

 

The main task of the permanent position is to support our divisions in fulfilling the notification requirement in different EU countries in accordance with EU Posted Worker’s Directive and to verify travel and weekly expense reports of Wärtsilä employee.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare the required EU Posted Worker’s Notification in different EU countries: 
    o Gather information from different internal sources
    o Understand the different legal requirements and local processes in EU Countries
    o Communicate with different stakeholders (local HR, Division HR, travelling employees, line managers) 
    o File the notification, manage and coordinate the process
    o Ensure high quality maintenance of data 
- Improvement and development of the internal  process
- Document the notification process to support automating it by utilising RPA technology
- Checking travel and weekly expense reports according to agreed time schedule and ensuring prompt payment
- Verifying that travel and weekly expense reports are created according to Wärtsilä Global Travel Policy and according to local legal requirements
- Verifying that travel and weekly expense reports are booked to the correct G/L accounts
- Verifying that VAT tax deductions are made correctly
- Verifying exchange rates
- Making corrections in the travel and weekly expense reports and informing travellers about possible errors and corrections
- Supporting local travel contact persons, other internal and external partners and providing help for travellers
- Transferring the data to WE SAP FI/CO (financial accounting) for bookkeeping and payment

 

What are we looking from you?
- Financial education – M.Sc or B.Sc in Financial Accounting 
- SAP HR and FI Module knowledge and experience of similar tasks are an advantage 
- Experience of working in a Shared Service Center with financial processes
- Interest on understanding  EU legislative requirements
- Good knowledge of VAT regulations 
- Fluent English skills and preferably good Finnish or Swedish, other languages are an advantage
- Systematic and organised way of working
- Positive attitude and pro-active thinking 
- Pro-active attitude, self-going, fast learner and good team-worker
- Good customer service and communication skills
