Marine Financial Business Services is looking for a Controller to join our Operative Controlling Projects team.
Marine Financial Business Services is a global competence and expertise centre for FICO activities within Marine businesses. The main functions are project creation, trade finance, invoicing, project control and operative controlling. MFBS is responsible for ensuring high-class quality in optimised processes and usage of tools.
As a Controller, you will be responsible for the operative controlling of Marine customer delivery projects in defined companies. We are looking for an energetic, positive, accurate, and systematic person who is familiar with financial control and accounting principles. We value good team spirit and cooperation as well as great communication skills.
Position information:
This is a permanent position and the preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland with hybrid remote work possibilities, but other locations can also be considered.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial period end closing and related activities for defined companies
- Ensure on-time, reliable, high-quality reporting and analysis
- Reporting and controlling project portfolio profitability in cooperation with project controllers
- Ensure proper internal control reporting within the defined responsibility area
- Monitoring and analysing Income statement and Balance sheet items
- Provide accurate material and reports for audits (internal and external)
- Ensure reporting and accounting procedures and way of working according to the legal requirements (IFRS etc) as well as Wärtsilä’s internal guidelines
- Develop own function and improve processes
Requirements for this role:
- B.Sc or M.Sc. in Economics, preferably in Finance and Accounting
- Good knowledge of project financial controlling and related accounting
- Previous experience in finance and control
- Extensive SAP knowledge especially in FICO and PS module
- Good analytical and reporting skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible and willing to learn and grow along the business requirements
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, take initiative and achieve results
- Experience with QlikView and Power BI is seen as an advantage
- Excellent skills in English, both verbal and written
