Wärtsilä Shaft Line Solutions is reliable partner with over 100 years’ of experience in designing, manufacturing, and servicing shaft line products for the marine markets. We operate in 75 countries and supply products for the whole shaft line, from seals and bearings to couplings, stern tubes, and condition monitoring systems, and make it possible for an entire propulsion system to be fully serviced by one supplier. Priorities in SLS are to stay safe, keep customers happy, and have fun.
We are now looking for a Data Analyst to join our Shaft Line Solutions (SLS) team. The role is offered as a permanent contract and can be based in Finland, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, Spain, Italy, Greece, or Poland.

What will you be doing?
In this exciting new role in SLS, you will support our business unit within the area of data analytics. You will be working with the business to analyse data, build reports and ensure the understanding of the data through visualization and communication. You will be part of both strategic initiatives and our daily operations, working with stakeholders throughout our organisation.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Create standard reports to allow our management and teams to follow SLS business operations
- Visualize SLS business data in easily understandable ways to support daily operations and strategy execution
- Run ad-hoc analyses to support fact-based decision-making and strategic planning
- Extract actionable information from transactional data sets and deliver it to the right stakeholders
- Contribute to secure adequate data quality in SLS business data
- Pioneer innovative ways of working within the areas of data, reporting, machine learning and artificial intelligence
The below will enable you to succeed in this role:
- Proven track record of analysing data with SQL, optimally using Wärtsilä's Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) or similar
- Excellent knowledge of Power BI for building visual business reports
- Hands-on experience from working with some of Wärtsilä's main operational systems like ERP - SAP, CRM – Salesforce, PDM – Autodesk is seen as an advantage
- Experience working with Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence is seen as an advantage
- Have cultural awareness and experience of working in a multinational environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional conceptual, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Independent person who takes responsibility of own tasks but also enjoys a team focused environment
- Acts as an advocate for continuous improvement
- Willingness to travel on occasion
- You identify yourself with and contribute to SLS’ strong safety culture
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
