Catalyst Systems is a Product line in the Power Supply business line. We are developing and delivering world-class emission control solutions for Wärtsilä engines. Now we are looking for a Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer to join our Catalyst Systems Technology team. You will be joining a Product line of 50+ awesome colleagues.

 

In this position you will be working in close collaboration with various colleagues on different competence areas while you execute versatile design tasks for our customer delivery- as well as development projects.

Position information:

 

This permanent position is to be located in primarily Vaasa, Finland where many customer delivery-related activities take place. Turku or Helsinki can be considered as an alternative location. Please note that relocation costs and/or immigration support are not available for this position.


Responsibilities:

 

Your typical workday could look like this:

  • Project engineering tasks for process- and mechanical systems will keep you busy part of the day/week: Piping & instrumentation diagrams, component selections & dimensioning, technical support for project managers, communication with suppliers, and support for factory acceptance tests
  • While you are not occupied by customer delivery project tasks, you focus on product care, -improvement, and -development project tasks: Mechanical engineering tasks for maintaining and developing our products and solutions. Maintaining master process diagrams, component selection tools and tables
  • Your goal and red line is to ensure high quality of design on customer deliveries and to help us develop our products and solutions continuously, having quality, reliability, and cost awareness in mind all the time

 

Requirements:

 

As an ideal candidate you:

  • Are B.Sc. or M.Sc. in mechanical- or process engineering or similar.
  • Have some years of working experience on project/product engineering tasks combining process- and mechanical engineering areas.
  • Can read & understand process diagrams.
  • Know common process components and their functions.
  • Manage 3D design tools and PDM systems like NX and Teamcenter.
  • Communicate fluently in English and Finnish or Swedish
  • Applicable experience in industrial process module- or system design as well as mechanical design is seen as an asset.
