We are looking for two Mechanical Engineers in our team. Depending on your seniority and experience your title could be Chief, Senior or Design Engineer with a main responsibility in Tool design/development. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland but also Turku and Helsinki are negotiable. We offer the possibility of hybrid work. 
  
Your role and responsibilities
 
Your work will include innovating and maintaining designs of critical production tools. Other position is mainly design focused, other position may include also design process development activities. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of energetic Tools & Equipment team with diverse expertise.
 
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate tool design/development activities of your own responsibility area, ensuring timely delivery of functional, safe, and legally compliant solutions
  • Report the activities & progress and keep align with RDE gate check list together with DFM experts
  • Support stakeholders in tool related studies or expertise questions
  • Participate in product development projects and give support for tools design in cooperation with RDE and partner companies 

 

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have: 
 

  • BSc or MSc studies in Engineering 
  • Knowledge of NX / Teamcenter or other 3D cad tools 
  • Systematic and organized way of working, good problem-solving skills 
  • Knowledge & basic understanding of additive manufacturing 
  • Fluency in Finnish and English 
  • Experience in strength calculation, welding or any other traditional engineering area or design / development projects is considered a benefit.
