Development Engineer

Wärtsilä Marine Power Supply, Delivery Centre STH (Sustainable Technology Hub) is looking for a Development Engineer to be part of the Material Management team. 


DC STH Material Management plans, organizes, controls and develops the material flow from suppliers to production and external customers, including inbound, in-house and outbound logistics as well as supplier quality assurance. We are now looking for a Development Engineer who will be responsible for developing the processes and systems related to supplier quality assurance within Material Management to improve and optimize end-to-end material flow. The supplier quality assurance team is responsible for supplier non-conformity handling and incoming inspection of materials.

Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Lead developments within supplier quality assurance area and support also in other development projects at STH
  • Develop supplier quality assurance-related systems (e.g. SAP ERP/EWM) and processes to improve and optimize end-to-end material flow
  • Participate in the S/4HANA project: planning, testing, training users and supporting them after going live
  • Support end-users in system and process-related challenges
  • Support and develop KPI measurements in PowerBI
  • Cooperate with other Wärtsilä plants in development activities
  • Be responsible for continuous knowledge sharing related to best practices
  • Analyse and develop supplier quality assurance master data
  • Be responsible for maintaining process charts and work instructions
  • Coordinate and provide training

 

Requirements:

 

  • M.Sc or B.Sc in engineering, economics, IT or similar
  • Experience in SAP (ECC or S/HANA and EWM)
  • Experience in logistics or quality in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience in programming, robotics (e.g. RPA) or PowerBI is seen as an advantage
  • Experience in process development and project management is seen as an advantage
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles is seen as an advantage (e.g. value stream mapping, kaizen, root cause analysis and problem-solving)
  • Good communication, teamwork and social skills
  • Systematic and active approach to working
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written Finnish or Swedish and English
