Development Engineer

We are looking for a Development Engineer with a main responsibility in engine and components protection during manufacturing and delivery chain, including delivery to customer.
The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Vaasa, Finland, Other locations cannot be considered. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.
What you will be doing
As a Development Engineer your work will include identifying the different protection needs for engines and components. Analyse the current process and feedback from our delivery chain and find the development needs in our protection processes and instructions. Execute and/or coordinate identified development actions. Explore new possibilities and methods for component protection, e.g. packing methods and rust protection agents. Additional tasks include participating to the Recovery Management actions. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working in Delivery Centre Sustainable Technology Hub, Product Delivery organisation (DC STH PD) as a part of dynamic Recovery Management team with diverse expertise.
(In this role, some travel might be required. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.)
Requirements for the position:
- Strong problem-solving skills, courage to challenge yourself and positive mindset
- Fluent spoken and written Finnish and English
- Technical background: BSc. /MSc. in Engineering or similar experience or competence
- Experience/knowledge of component rust protection in supply/delivery chain is seen as an advantage
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Entrepreneurial mindset, can-do attitude and networking skills
- Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills
- Experience of using MS Office tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
