Development Manager, Electrical Systems

The role:

 

We are seeking a dynamic Development Manager to develop our plant electrical systems and solutions in cooperation with cross cross-functional development team, external vendors, and suppliers. In this role, you will be at the forefront of innovation, leading the design and development of electrical distribution systems with a focus on transformers and HV substations. From conceptualisation to taking to market, you will secure the success of the developed products and solutions through continuous improvement and securing top-notch data quality. You will push the boundaries of what's achievable, ensuring that our electrical systems portfolio remains at the forefront of technological advancement in cooperation with other development managers and experts.

 

Position information:

 

This position is permanent, and the position offers the opportunity to work in Vaasa, Finland, with the possibility of other locations within Finland being negotiable. We also provide the option for hybrid remote work.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the development of HV substations and transformers for engine power plants in collaboration with team members and equipment suppliers
  • Support overall plant electrical systems and solutions development (e.g. LV/DC/MV), serving as an expert in technology development projects
  • Ensure top-notch data quality and maintain a sales-ready electrical systems portfolio in cooperation with team members and stakeholders
  • Identify and support development opportunities for data-centric businesses/services on intelligent electrical devices
  • Provide HV substation and transformer-related technical support to sales and customer delivery projects
  • Continuously improve field installation experience and follow-up

 

Requirements:

 

  • MSc or BSc in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline, with 3+ years of relevant working experience
  • Hands-on knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including HV substations and transformers
  • Familiarity with relevant compliance, industry standards, and electrical safety
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong planning and execution abilities
  • Positive, results-oriented mindset and self-driven approach
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
