We are seeking a dynamic Development Manager to lead the development and maintenance of electrical solutions for our plant auxiliary systems. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional product platform teams, expert groups, external vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers. As a Development Manager, you will own the electrical design of plant auxiliary modules, equipment, and instrumentation, ensuring solid stakeholder collaboration. You will be responsible for guiding projects from conceptualization to market introduction, ensuring the success of developed products and solutions through continuous improvement and maintaining high-quality data standards. Your efforts will drive technological advancement, ensuring our electrical systems and module portfolio remain at the cutting edge, in cooperation with other development managers and experts.


Position Information:

 

This is a permanent position located in Vaasa, Finland, with the possibility of other locations within Finland being negotiable. We also provide the option for hybrid remote work.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the plant auxiliary module electrification product team, developing and implementing strategic roadmaps in collaboration with cross-functional team members and product platform teams
  • Ensure technical ownership of the module electrification, define I/O specifications, develop and maintain module testers, and create comprehensive documentation and training materials for stakeholders
  • Take ownership of balance of plant (process) instrumentation, drive relevant data-centric development, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
  • Provide expert support to sales and delivery projects, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction
  • Offer technical support to auxiliary module and panel manufacturers, actively participating in periodic quality and pricing reviews
  • Coordinate plant electrification requirements with the engine and engineering teams, ensuring all specifications are met
  • Oversee detailed plant electrification specifications and documentation with stakeholders, covering aspects such as cabling, lighting, trace heating, and fire & gas detection
  • Support the development of overall plant electrical systems and solutions (e.g., LV/DC/MV)
  • Ensure top-notch data quality and maintain a sales-ready module portfolio in close cooperation with other product team members and stakeholders
  • Continuously enhance field installation experiences and conduct follow-ups to ensure optimal performance and satisfaction


Requirements:

 

  • MSc or BSc in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline, with 3+ years of relevant working experience
  • Hands-on knowledge of electrical systems design and development
  • Experience with relevant compliance, industry standards, and electrical machinery and safety
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong planning and execution abilities
  • Positive, results-oriented mindset and self-driven approach
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken


Skills Considered Beneficial:

 

  • Understanding of the energy market
  • Knowledge of agile principles and practices
  • Familiarity with industrial control and communication protocols
  • Knowledge of mainstream distribution systems suppliers/OEMs and product know-how
  • Experience in performing start-up, troubleshooting, and commissioning support
