We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with a main responsibility in R&D and Engineering, Large Bore engines, Test and Validation team. The location for this position is Vaasa, Finland.
Your role and responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineer your work will include is coordinating the commissioning of laboratory engine measurement and control systems, installing test setups, and ensuring the use of the measurement environment during testing periods together with colleagues and test teams. You’ll be working as a part of specialized and skilled team(s) in Large Bore engines Testing and Validation Team with diverse expertise.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Maintenance, development and upgrading of test engines, measurement and control systems and test infra.
- Planning and executing engine components and systems related measurements, test and systems related arrangements together with parallel organizations and test team(s) mainly on laboratory engines, production engines and sometimes in test rigs.
- Analysing and reporting of test results.
- Verification of correct and properly saved measurement data.
- Updating and developing test methods and test facilities.
- Usage and development of different control and measurement programs.
- Supporting different activities in engine and technology testing.
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:
- Relevant technical education MSc or BSc in electrical and automation technology or equal. Also, an experienced electrician who has worked with measurement technology and machinery or mobile equipment is also a possible candidate to fill the position.
- Ability to read and interpret system schemas and mechanical drawings.
- A practical ability and willingness to tackle tasks and fulfill one's part in the team's responsibilities.
- Interest in and basic knowledge of engine technology. Deeper knowledge of 4-stroke engine technology is an advantage.
- Willingness to develop skills in driving engines and participating in the development of engine control technology.
Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:
- Ability to design, implement, and instruct sensor setups and cabling related assemblies and measurement systems set-up's required for engine components and systems testing. Previous experience in similar tasks is an advantage.
- Good skills in communication and documentation.
- Good team working skills, as well as ability to work independently.
- Good command of English and Finnish or Swedish.
