We are looking for an Electrical engineer or experienced Electrician to work in R&D and Engineering, Large Bore engines, Test and Validation team.

 

The location for this position is Vaasa, Finland.

 

What you will be doing


As an Electrical Engineer, you will be working in Test and Validation team at the front end of Wärtsilä´s engine and technology development. We are offering you a possibility to participate in the development of future engine technologies and to contribute to the accelerating realization of decarbonization objectives as a part of a skilled engine test team.


As an Electrical Engineer, you will focus on the following responsibilities:

 

 

  • Maintenance, development and upgrading of test engines, measurement and control systems and test infra.
  • Planning and executing measurements and engine automation related activities.
  • Planning, organizing and executing tests on production engines, laboratory engines, field engines and test rigs.
  • Analysing and reporting of test results.
  • Verification of correct and properly saved measurement data.
  • Updating and developing test methods and test facilities.
  • Usage and development of different control and measurement programs.
  • Supporting different activities in engine and technology testing
  • You’ll be working as a part of dynamic and competent Large Bore Engines Test and Validation team with diverse expertise.

 

Requirements for the position:

 

 

  • Relevant technical education (MSc or BSc in electrical or automation engineering). An experienced electrician who has worked with measurement technology and machinery or mobile equipment is also a possible candidate to fill the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Interest in and basic knowledge of engine technology. Deeper knowledge of 4-stroke engine technology is an advantage.
  • Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:
  • Skills and previous experiences in control & measurement systems is an advantage.
  • Good skills in communication and documentation.
  • Good team working skills, as well as ability to work independently.
  • Good command of English and Finnish or Swedish.
