Emission Measurement Engineer

We are looking for an Emission Measurement Engineer to strengthen the Emissions & Automation team in our Testing & Validation Test Services. The location for this position is Vaasa, Finland, and the work is carried out at the Sustainable Technology Hub (STH) in Vaskiluoto.
Your role and responsibilities
We operate in the STH Plant, close to the test cells in the Hub and Research Lab. We strive to continuously improve our measurement methods and maintain our equipment in top condition. You’ll be working as part of a dedicated team with diverse expertise.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Carry out emission measurements in STH on production engines, test engines, and single-cylinder research engines
- Be part of a team developing new methods for emission measurements and continue the ongoing work of automating recurring emission measurements
- Develop your knowledge and expertise in the emission measurement area in the longer term, to also cover fuel gas analysis, measurement of particulates, and/or other more advanced methods
- Perform maintenance and calibration of the emission measurement equipment
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:
- Relevant technical education (BSc or MSc, or equivalent, in Chemical, Environmental, Automation, or Electrical Engineering)
- Good understanding of technology and product development – knowledge of the Wärtsilä engine product family, systems, and solutions is seen as a benefit
- Strong internal motivation, passion for execution, and drive to get things completed
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good teamwork skills
- Proactive and self-driven approach with a doer’s attitude
- Good English skills; Finnish and/or Swedish skills are an advantage
- Structured way of working and planning
- Willingness to learn and adapt
