We are looking for a Test Expert with a main responsibility in tuning customer engines. The position is part of the R&D and Engineering organization and the location is Vaasa, Finland.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Test Expert, your work will include testing and tuning the engines for optimal performance at the factory test to secure a high quality of the product and a firm base for commissioning in the field. We are offering a technically interesting and challenging work with good opportunity to contribute in the development of the operations
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Tune the engine control parameters to achieve optimal performance and ensure that the official engine FAT program can be executed in line with contractual obligations
- Systematically follow up and increase the maturity level of engine control parameters through cross-functional team cooperation
- Take part in various troubleshooting of engine functionality / automation & control related issues
- Test new functionalities cooperatively with engine performance- and testing & validation experts
- Document and communicate changes done during the testing
- Monitor upcoming commissioning schedules, cross-check for improvements and prepare the engine parametrization according to need
- Assist site commissioning when needed jointly with the Services organization
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:

- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Logical thinking and systematic way of working
- Fluency in verbal and written English as well as Finnish or Swedish
- Motivation to learn and grow professionally
- Ability to take initiatives and act independently with accuracy in work
- Flexibility
- Experience of working with internal combustion engines and/or related automation systems
- Technical education MSc or BSc in the areas of: Internal combustion engine technology, Marine engineering (machinery) or Automation
- Alternatively other education combined with specific experience of- and burning interest in internal combustion engines
