Field Service Resource Planner
At the heart of our operations, the Marine Agreements Field Service Planning team ensures seamless coordination of field service resources for our Marine customers. We manage all aspects of engine maintenance and monitoring, both scheduled and unscheduled, under long-term service agreements. Our commitment to excellence and doing things right has earned us the trust of customers who rely on our world-class service.
Do you excel at connecting people, skills, and schedules to deliver outstanding service?
We are excited to announce that we are seeking a dynamic Field Service Resource Planner to join our skilled team!
This role is offered on a permanent basis. The preferred location is any Wärtsilä location in Finland; however, locations in Poland and the United Kingdom can also be considered. The position reports to Andrea Tejada, Team Leader Field Service Planning, who is based in Panama.
What will you be doing?
As a Field Service Resource Planner, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our Field Service personnel are deployed effectively and efficiently. Your mission is to match the right people with the right skills to the right jobs, at the right time. In doing so, you’ll enable smooth, high-quality service delivery across global marine operations. Your work will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction, team performance, and operational excellence, making you a key contributor to our success.
Work hours and flexibility:
Given the global nature of our operations, you’ll be working closely with colleagues across multiple time zones. This requires a high level of flexibility and self-leadership. You are expected to take ownership of your schedule, structuring your workday in a way that allows you to respond to urgent needs as they arise and manage your responsibilities proactively. While regular working hours apply, occasional adjustments, including intermittent weekend availability, may be necessary to ensure smooth coordination and timely support across regions. This includes responding to urgent emails to resolve issues or communicate critical timelines, helping us uphold our commitment to high service standards.
In return, we offer a highly flexible remote work environment that empowers you to work independently while remaining connected to a truly international team. You’ll have the freedom to manage your time and tasks in a way that suits both your role and personal working style, within a framework that values accountability and collaboration.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Booking resource requests for Field Service work orders using the Planning Board.
- Swiftly addressing urgent issues as they arise, adjusting working hours when needed to maintain high service standards across global operations.
- Coordinating logistics such as visas, medicals, travel, and accommodations to ensure personnel availability.
- Maintaining confidentiality of personnel information.
- Assisting the Operations Coordinator by providing regular feedback from completed jobs.
- Supporting the booking of training sessions for Field Service personnel.
- Keeping the Field Service resource planning tool up to date.
- Ensuring accuracy in the Professional Skills Management tool.
- Balancing workloads and optimising utilisation across the team.
- Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Collaborating with departments such as CAC, CM, and Sales to ensure excellent customer service.
- Adhering to Wärtsilä’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines.
- Being open to taking on additional responsibilities that align with the role’s purpose and scope, as the position evolves in response to operational needs.
The below will enable you to succeed in this role:
- BSc in Engineering, Administration, or a related field, or qualifications gained through work experience.
- Experience in Field Service operations or administrative work related to field service coordination.
- Exceptional administrative, organisational, and time management skills.
- A solid understanding of technical terminology and the scope of service jobs to ensure accurate resource allocation.
- The ability to work independently with a self-directed and structured approach.
- A friendly, service-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Cultural awareness and the ability to collaborate effectively in a global, virtually led team.
- Proficiency in English is required; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
- A high level of adaptability to shifting priorities in a dynamic, international environment.
What we offer:
In the Marine Agreements team, you’ll be part of a global, innovative, and customer-driven organisation working with cutting-edge technologies in the marine industry. We believe in empowering our people, which is why we offer flexible working arrangements that support both autonomy and work-life balance. Your professional growth is important to us, and we provide excellent opportunities for competence development and actively encourage continuous improvement. You’ll have the chance to contribute to enhancing our ways of working through your expertise and passion for development. As part of a large international organisation, you’ll also benefit from clear career progression paths and room to grow within Wärtsilä.
