Get to Know Technology 2026 Internship Program in Vaasa

Wärtsilä’s Get to Know Technology program is an eight‑working‑day internship program for students who are 15–17 years old on the starting date of the program. No previous work experience is required. The program is organized at our Sustainable Technology Hub in Vaasa from Tuesday 2.6. to Thursday 11.6., on weekdays from 9:00 to 15:00.
The aim of the program is to give the interns an introduction to working life, an opportunity to develop their teamwork and communication skills, and to increase their understanding of Wärtsilä. There is a guided, pre‑planned schedule for each working day with presentations from Wärtsilä professionals and different kinds of group work and activities related to themes such as sustainability, career opportunities, and Wärtsilä’s businesses. Please note that, for work safety reasons, the program does not include working in manufacturing or independent work in the offices.
What is expected of suitable applicants?
- You are a student aged 15–17 years old
- Able to participate during the given dates: Tuesday 2.6. – Thursday 11.6.
- Motivated and positive attitude
- Able to participate in the program in English – your language skills do not need to be perfect, but you must be able to follow instructions and presentations and have the courage to take part in basic conversations in English. Finnish and Swedish will be used as support languages when needed.
- Willingness to actively collaborate with the whole group
A salary of 385 € is paid after the program, and a daily lunch at the office is provided for the participants.
