Hardware Engineer

We are looking for a Hardware Engineer with a main responsibility in hardware systems engineering with lifecycle understanding. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland, but also Turku, Finland is negotiable. We offer the possibility of hybrid remote work. 
  
Your role and responsibilities
 
As a Hardware Engineer, your work will include collecting needs and defining requirements, as well as electronics systems engineering and supplier collaboration. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of the agile Wärtsilä Marine Power Solutions RDE, Automation & Controls team with diverse expertise.

 

Requirements for the position:
 

  • Suitable Master's or Bachelor's degree 
  • Over 3 years experience in electronics systems engineering, including lifecycle aspects
  • Experience in refining requirements for electronics and collaboration within the partner network
  • Experience in automated hardware testing practices and DevOps
  • Fluency in verbal and written English, our everyday work language is English
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

 
To be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:

 

  • Experience in agile development practices
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing
  • Knowledge of current CPU and FPGA technologies
  • Quality mindset
