Inspection Manager

Wärtsilä Energy Business is looking for an experienced Mechanical / Welding Inspection Manager to join active Supply Quality Control team in Vaasa, Finland. SQC team includes experts from various areas of expertise who are responsible for the quality inspections, following up the correction completion and developing corrective and preventive actions from the inspection results. You do not have direct subordinates, but good co-operation with other internal experts, product and category team members and with the suppliers is a key for success.




- Supply Quality Control and Inspections (approval / rejection) for mechanical equipment and welded structures in Energy Solutions scope of supply
- Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT), delivery and dispatch inspections, process audits
- Quality responsible on product teams
- Non-conformity reporting, analyse and problem solving
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Inform customers FAT related issues and take care of customer relations during visits on request
- Control of FAT procedures and documentation
- Technical quality support for internal and external customers




- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in design, commissioning, production or quality control (Wärtsilä products experience is seen as an advantage)
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, technical specifications, contractual technical documentation, etc.
- Good with co-operation, communication and management
- Good problem solving, decision making, reporting and negotiation skills
- IWS / IWT / IWE / IWI certificates are seen as an advantage
- NDT experience & knowledge (certificates are seen as an advantage)
- Good knowledge from PED requirements
- LNG knowledge is seen as an advantage
- Good IM skills
- Fluent in English and Finnish (other languages is seen as an advantage)
- Ability to travel 50-100 day in a year (mostly on weekdays)
