Instrumentation and Measurement Engineer

R&D and Engineering / Testing & Validation is looking for an Instrumentation and Measurement Engineer to support the increased need for instrumenting of test components as well as make and develop accurate and correct measurements.  The position is permanent and will be located in Vaasa. 


The suitable candidate should demonstrate a clear attitude in executing the needed measurement activities on test engines, as well as in ensuring that the results are reliable, accurate and in compliance with industry specific standards and Wärtsilä guidelines. As Instrumentation and Measurement Engineer, you will be developing measurement systems for even higher accuracies.




- Participate in the laboratory special measurements, including component temperature, stress & strain as well as movement measurements 
- Participate in projects as measurement expert
- Perform measurements also at production test beds and field installations 
- Develop and improve measurement equipment and methods 
- Make hardware tests both of sensors and instruments on engines as well as test rigs 





- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in mechanical, automation, or electrical side. Alternatively M.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry if the work experience has been focused on measurement systems development.
- Experience in working with different measurement systems, sensors and engines
- At least 2 years experience in working with measurement duties 
- CAD drawing knowledge
- Good English skill, Italian or Spanish seen as a benefit
- Programming skills seen as an advantage
