Integration Engineer

We are now looking for an Integration Engineer to join our Decarbonisation Services team in the Energy Services Business. The preferred location is Helsinki or Vaasa, Finland, but other locations are negotiable as well. We offer the possibility of hybrid remote work.

 

Your role and responsibilities

 

As an Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating our GEMS Energy Management System to various generating assets or relevant systems in a power system. This role involves designing the communication network and defining the protocols used to connect our GEMS solution to multiple assets.

 

In this position, it is essential to understand the functionalities of the GEMS software, how it communicates with different assets, and how it optimises the energy dispatch in a power
system. Technical discussions with stakeholders and customers are crucial for project success and understanding. You may need to travel internationally to help commission your work at large solar, wind, engine, energy storage or hybrid power plants.

 

In this role, you will report to the Head of Concept Development, Decarbonisation Services and work closely with people across the organisation, both in Energy Services and in the Energy Business more broadly.

 

Requirements for the position:

 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field with experience in power plants, substations and industrial automation
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP network communication devices and industrial communication protocol (Modbus, OPC DA/OPC UA)
  • Knowledge of Networking – VLAN, NAT, and basic principles of switches and routers configuration
  • Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming with Java, Python
  • Experience or knowledge of SCADA standards and products
  • Passionate about renewable energy
  • Attention to detail and good time management skills, ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to work with documentation tools like Word, Excel, Miro, Confluence

 

To be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:

 

  • Grasp of cybersecurity principles and practices in software products
  • Working experience with Modern software development management tools including JIRA, Git and Confluence
  • Familiar with SSH and tunneling
  • Working experience with Docker
  • Experience with drawing tools to create diagrams such as SLD, P&ID, such as ACAD or Visio
  • Experience with DNP3, IEC-61850, IEC-61870-104-5
