We are looking for a Junior Business Controller, to join the Business Reporting & Accounting team within Wärtsilä Energy Storage.

As a Junior Business Controller you will support our Business Reporting and Accounting Team for a 6 month fixed term period. You will be responsible for time sensitive tasks whilst respecting Wärtsilä’s processes and tools. You will also assist the wider team in achieving its goals. You will be accompanied by supportive and driven team members who are experts in their fields. 
 
You will have teammates in Vaasa, as well as Helsinki and the US. This is a temporary, 6 month, fixed-term position. The location required for this role is our STH Hub, Vaasa, Finland.
 
The Junior Business Controllers main responsibilities are:

  • Monthly, quarterly and annual result reporting for Energy Storage (ESB) including globally period end closing tasks, Order Book and POC reporting
  • Analysis of global project cost calculations that are base for ESB revenue recognition
  • Provide ad hoc reports and business analysis to stakeholders
  • Analysis of project related re-billing activities, ensuring availability of project estimates for re-billing scopes
  • Prepare project cost reclassifications
  • Ensuring high data quality and process correctness


The Requirements for this position:

 

  • B.Sc or M.Sc. Degree, preferably in Finance and/or Accounting
  • Good financial knowledge, reporting and analysing skills
  • Previous experience in finance and control within Wartsila is advantageous  
  • Understanding of the Marine marketplace
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Be able to explain complex issues in a simple manner to our stakeholders
  • Excellent skills in English, both verbal and written


You will shine in this position if you have:

  • Excellent SAP skills, especially in FICO
  • Experience with Wartsila key business tools such as Clarity
  • Good knowledge of the activity and time sensitive priorities during month end closing is strong advantage
  • Proactive mentality and progressive attitude towards tasks and goals
