Maintenance processes and tools Expert

Maintenance processes and tools Expert

We are always on the lookout for a talent with a growth mindset – are you the one?

We are looking for a Maintenance Processes and Tools Expert with main responsibility to support and enhance both processes and systems for maintenance in our agreements business. For our agreement customers, Maximo is the backbone of maintenance management — integrated with SAP, CRM, Field Service tools, and multiple data flows. Major company-wide initiatives (Service Flow, One Data, as-maintained digital twin) are reshaping the landscape around us, and we need someone who ensures our ecosystem runs well today and is ready for what's coming.

The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland but will also consider Turku or Helsinki. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Maintenance Processes and Tools Expert your work will include engaging challenges related to system enhancements, integrations, and issue resolution within the maintenance management ecosystem. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You'll be working as part of our highly skilled and development-driven team with diverse expertise.

  • Maintain deep knowledge of maintenance planning processes for agreement customers and translate needs into system improvements and lifecycle decisions.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and enhance integrations between Maximo and connected systems (SAP, CRM, Field Service tools).
  • Assess how broader Wärtsilä initiatives impact the agreements maintenance ecosystem — proactively identify what needs to change.
  • Participate in development projects as a subject matter expert.
  • Test and validate new features, enhancements, and bug fixes by utilizing own expertise and the key user forum experts.
  • Provide training on newly developed features to key users and maintenance planners.
  • Create process documentation and training material, including online courses.
  • Contribute ideas for developing visualizations, dashboards, and configuring systems.

Requirements for the position:

  • Minimum 3 years in, maintenance planning, maintenance operations or maintenance system administration in heavy-duty, energy, marine, or comparable asset-intensive industry.
  • Has used or administered Maximo (or comparable CMMS such as SAP PM, IFS, or Infor) in a professional role.
  • Has worked directly with system integrations between at least two of: CMMS, ERP, CRM, or Field Service tools — involving troubleshooting, specifying, testing, or development.
  • Has created process documentation, training materials, or system specifications professionally.
  • Professional proficiency in English, written and verbal.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, or business information systems — or equivalent demonstrated through work experience.

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Systems thinking — ability to see dependencies, consequences, and ripple effects across interconnected systems and organizations. This is the single most important trait for success in this role.
  • Structured problem-solving in complex environments.
  • Communication and networking skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Curiosity toward adjacent domains beyond one's own scope.
  • Experience with SAP (PM/CS modules or integration touchpoints).
  • Agile methodology (Scrum, SAFe, or similar).
  • Understanding of digital twin concepts or master data management.
  • Experience with integration middleware, APIs, or data mapping tools.
  • Experience creating e-learning content.
