We are looking for a passionate, solution-oriented, and collaboration-driven communications professional to join the Marine Internal Communications Team as Manager, Marine Internal Communications.
As a member of Wärtsilä Internal Communications, you will in the driver’s seat to empower our people with our strategy, The Wärtsilä Way, and communicate what makes Wärtsilä an inspiring and rewarding place to work. In the Marine Internal Communications Team, you’ll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure our communication is impactful in Marine Business Units, in Marine and globally. You report to the Lead of Marine Internal Communications.
The preferred location is Vaasa, but other main Wärtsilä locations in Europe can also be considered.
Your role and responsibilities:
As Manager, Marine Internal Communications, you will:
- Plan and implement internal communications for our three Business Units that manufacture our equipment in different locations globally, as well as drive communications on continuous improvement, and quality. You will do this in close partnership with key stakeholders in Marine Business Units, Marine Business HR, and Marine Marketing and Communications.
- Support and coach leaders to deliver their messages in an impactful way and build cascade capability with our Line Managers.
- Measure impact and continuously improve internal communications.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in the overall Wärtsilä Marketing and Communications function to deliver aligned messages to various audiences.
As an ideal candidate, you have:
- At least 5 years of proven experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or a related field.
- Excellent English language skills and the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple communication projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
- An understanding of the communications needs of colleagues working in the manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the shipping industry is considered an asset.
