Wärtsilä Marine Power Solutions, Delivery Centre (DC) Sustainable Technology Hub (STH) is looking for a Manager, Material Supply & Logistics to join the Material Management team. DC STH Material Management plans, organizes and controls the material flow from suppliers to production, including, transportation, in-house logistics, warehousing and supplier quality assurance. As a Manager, Material Supply & Logistics, you will be responsible for leading and developing STH In-house logistics and logistics centre operations.
Position information:
This permanent position is located in Vaasa, Finland.
Responsibilities for this role:
- Lead a team of Wärtsilä Logistics experts
- Lead our logistics operator partners in the Logistics centre and In-house logistics operations
- Ensure agreement compliance with our partners
- Participate in process and material availability development for Delivery Centre STH
- Process and system development related to optimized end-to-end material flow
- Cooperation with other Wärtsilä departments to meet material availability requirements
- Support and develop KPI measurements to ensure your teams are achieving their targets
To be able to succeed in this role, we hope you have:
- Master of Science or equivalent (in engineering, economics, IT, business administration, or similar)
- Skills to motivate and coach people to reach desired results
- Collaboration skills with your own team, colleagues and other departments in Wärtsilä
- Systematic way of working and excellent problem-solving skills
- Solution orientation with a strong focus on ensuring optimal efficiency, cost and quality.
- Experience in the development of management systems
- Good presentation skills
- Fluent in spoken and written Finnish or Swedish and English
In addition, we wish that you have previous experience or knowledge of:
- Knowledge of LEAN principles is seen as an advantage (e.g., value stream mapping, kaizen, root cause analysis, and problem-solving)
- Strong IT skills (e.g., SAP knowledge)
- Experience in Logistics operations
- Experience in Supply Management is seen as an advantage
- Experience in process development and project management is seen as an advantage
