Manager W20/W25 Testing

Wärtsilä Research & Development Engine Testing is looking for a Manager to lead Wärtsilä 25 / 20 product development engine testing. 


This position is permanent, and it is located in Vaasa, Finland. 


Your role and responsibilities 

 

  • Lead assigned test teams according to business strategy within assigned responsibility area
  • Manage test plans and validation maps, arrange test progress meetings, arrange your own team’s performance and status meetings, participate in product development project core teams
  • Distribute workload according to priority and resource availability, ensure development of personnel within assigned organization
  • Secure good cooperation and communication with stakeholders
  • Monitor and report your team’s performance
  • Ensure that objectives and targets are met
  • Inspect and approve test reports or other deliverables
  • Develop and improve test methods and facilities 

 

Requirements for the position: 

 

  • Technical education (BSc or MSc or equivalent)
  • Structured and systematic way of working and ability to decide
  • Strong personal drive, proactive mindset and passionate about getting things done
  • Good communication, team working and negotiation skills
  • Fluent verbal and written skills in Finnish and English language are mandatory. Swedish language skills are seen as an advantage 

 

It is considered an advantage if you have:

 

  • Experience in manager position, perhaps even in superior's role
  • Strong passion and understanding of internal combustion engine technologies
  • Experience of laboratory testing environment
