On-Call Trainee, Product Automation Testing

We are looking for an On-call Trainee with a main responsibility in Product Automation Testing. We offer a possibility to hybrid work.
Your role and responsibilities
As an On-call Trainee your work will include software testing and related assignments. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of a supportive and energetic team with diverse expertise.
Working time is agreed upon based on the need (max 25h/week) and agreed upon on a monthly basis. The position is offered as 8-month temporary contract, and the location is Sustainable Technology Hub (STH) in Vaasa, Finland. A well performing candidate may get the opportunity to continue as a full-time Trainee during the summer 2027.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- UNIC (Embedded control system of Wärtsilä engines) software component testing and validation
- Engine Laboratory test platform support and maintenance
- Customer Delivery/Test run support
- STH Common Automation Lab development
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have/be:
- You are currently pursuing a degree within IT/Software/Computing Sciences/Automation or equivalent in a Finnish University or University of Applied Sciences
- You may have some work experience already, but it’s not required
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive personality
- Preferably you are in the first half of your full-time studies
