Operational Purchaser

We are now looking for an enthusiastic Operational Purchaser to join our team in Vaasa, Finland. In accordance with our hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

In this role, you will be responsible for spare parts purchasing, managing the entire process from requirement to delivery. Your goal will be to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods, supporting smooth operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.

 

The ideal candidate has experience with purchasing or logistics, preferably in the spare parts business. Technical understanding is beneficial for effectively managing customer requests and supplier communications. Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you will work closely with your team in a fast-paced environment to deliver the best possible service experience for our customers.

 

 

Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Preparing and executing the purchase order process.
  • Proactively following up on purchase orders and handling supplier invoices.
  • Managing supplier claims efficiently.
  • Developing and improving ways of working in cooperation with operations support and process development.
  • Fostering teamwork within the team and building commitment.
  • Collaborating with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Executing purchase orders, monitoring orders, confirming details, and rescheduling as necessary.
  • Monitoring and reporting on supplier performance.
  • Maintaining material and logistics data in relevant systems within the defined area of responsibility.
  • Coordinating the delivery of goods and logistics information with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expediting the delivery of goods to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Coaching suppliers and internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Continuously improving operative logistics activities.

 

 

The following will enable you to succeed in this role:

 

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering or similar educational background.
  • Experience in purchasing, logistics, or transportation, preferably in the spare parts business.
  • Technical understanding to effectively manage customer requests and supplier communications.
  • Proficiency in SAP, MS Office tools, and Supplier Portal.
  • Team-player mindset, enabling seamless collaboration both within the team and across different departments, to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive and result-oriented mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Flexible approach and ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Finnish or Swedish is advantageous.
