The Workshops Development team in Wärtsilä Marine Business Unit Development is dedicated to supporting workshops in digitizing core operations and enabling new business opportunities through advanced technology and information systems.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as Operational Support Expert, working at the critical interface of business and IT tools. The role is offered as a permanent contract and the preferred location is Vaasa, Finland; Gothenburg, Sweden; or Rubbestadneset, Norway. In this highly flexible role, you will be able to work partially remotely, in accordance with our hybrid work model.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

As an Operational Support Expert in the Workshops Development team, your primary focus will be on enhancing the operational efficiency and effectiveness of our workshops worldwide. This dynamic role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of technological advancements in workshop operations. Key responsibilities:

 

  • Collaboration and development:
    Work closely with PFS BUD and regional workshops to identify and execute development tasks that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

 

  • Improvement projects:
    Initiate, plan, and manage improvement projects aimed at optimizing workshop processes and systems.

 

  • Data management:
    Oversee the management of workshop meta data and the WAMS (Workshop Asset Management System) structure within the Master Data System (MDS) to ensure data integrity and availability.

 

  • Training and support:
    Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for end users on various IT solutions, ensuring they are well-equipped to utilize these tools effectively.

 

  • Global SAP transformation support:
    Provide extensive support for workshops globally as part of the ongoing S/4 Hana transformation, ensuring smooth integration and operation.

 

  • KPI monitoring and reporting:
    Regularly monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track workshop performance and identify areas for improvement.

 

  • Technology implementation:
    Assist in the deployment and integration of new technologies and tools to enhance workshop efficiency and productivity.

 

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Educational background:
    BSc or MSc in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a similar field of education.

 

  • Industry knowledge:
    A solid understanding of Workshop or Field Service functions, with practical experience being highly advantageous.

 

  • Technical expertise:
    Proficiency in CRM, SAP, and Salesforce processes, particularly in the CS and PP modules.

 

  • Teamwork and workload management:
    Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and manage tasks under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

 

  • Analytical skills:
    Strong analytical capabilities to assess complex data and processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement effective solutions.

 

  • Communication skills:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively train end users and collaborate with global teams.

 

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel:
    Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support global operations and collaborate with regional workshops.
