We are looking for a Process & System Expert with a main responsibility in process governance, systems enablement, and operations excellence within Operations Management in Performance Services, where our 60+ experts are providing remote support services for customers operating Wärtsilä four-stroke marine engines globally.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Process & System Expert, your work will include owning and developing end‑to‑end delivery processes and ensuring that our operational tools effectively support them. You’ll be working as a part of our collaborative and forward‑looking Operations Management team with diverse expertise.
The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland (Sustainable Technology Hub). We offer a possibility for hybrid work in line with company and business policy.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Own process governance for Operations Management: define, refine, document, and continuously improve end‑to‑end workflows across Operations Management and Expertise Centres.
- Own and Coordinate with service delivery responsible Marine Class compliance certifications & audit readiness by ensuring ways of working meet Wärtsilä standards and external requirements; maintain process artefacts (Quality documents, Process maps, Responsibility matrix, Standard Operating Procedure).
- Translate business needs into service deliveries: specify requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria; collaborate with Process & Service Delivery Owners and Service Design to create pragmatic solutions.
- Enable cross‑functional alignment by collaborating closely with Contract Management, Operations & Maintenance Management.
- Strengthen operational excellence, build trust, and demonstrate the true value behind our service organization by e.g. but not limited to transforming Centre visits Customer experience from abstract presentations into real, visible proof
- Lead performance & continuous improvement (WCI´s) activities.
To be able to succeed in this position, we expect you to have:
- BSc or MSc degree or equivalent in a relevant field of education.
- 5+ years of experience in technical and/or service delivery process development, systems enablement, or operational excellence
- Strong collaborative and change leadership skills, with a forward‑looking mindset, ownership, and the ability to guide stakeholders through process and system changes.
- Excellent communication and enablement capabilities, including stakeholder management, clear communication, and creation of training and documentation; fluent in English.
- Experience with key systems and data platforms, such as Enterprise Data Warehouse tools, Salesforce and business analytics tools; ability to connect process logic with system configuration.
- Solid analytical skills, including requirements gathering, backlog management, test planning/UAT, and process modelling, supported by a strong data orientation (KPIs, dashboards, data quality, structured problem solving).
- Familiar in 4 stroke product portfolio and in Data Storytelling: Turning KPIs into narratives—linking metrics to outcomes customers care about.
