Process Design Engineer

We are looking for a Process Design Engineer with a main responsibility in process system design in Wärtsilä Marine, Catalyst Systems Product Engineering -team.  In this position you will work in the beginning with customer delivery project related assignments and technical project support. In addition, you will have complementary assignments in product care- and product development projects. Later your role will change closer to full-time product development. Our product offering covers SCR- and DPF systems for NOx and particulate reduction from exhaust gas. The primary location for this position is Vaasa, Finland, but Turku, Finland can also be considered.
  
Your role and responsibilities:  
 
As a Process Design Engineer your work will include design-, documentation- and support tasks for our Catalyst product customer deliveries, sales projects as well as for product care- and development activities. Your typical deliverables will be process- and instrumentation diagrams, calculations, component selections, tests and testing reports. Ability to work hands-on with components and test setups is a benefit. The tasks can be adjusted slightly based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of engineering team with diverse expertise. In this position you will have excellent visibility from development to delivery and lifecycle of our products.
 
Requirements for the position: 

 

  • Degree on process engineering / similar, or applicable work experience
  • Good understanding of process engineering practices in general, process components and their functions
  • Proficiency in English, Finnish or Swedish is a plus
     

Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position you: 
 

  • Have a strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Are precise and detail oriented 
  • Are a team player with strong communication skills
  • Are eager to learn new things and not being afraid of accepting new challenges
  • Understanding of process control engineering & basics of automation is a benefit in this position
  • Experience from process equipment design and development with eye on mechanical packaging is a great benefit in this role
