We are looking for a Development Engineer/Expert with a main responsibility in securing manufacturability and manufacturing processes for assembly. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland. We offer the possibility of hybrid remote work.
Your role and responsibilities:
As a Development Engineer/Expert your work will include strong cooperation with different stakeholders, like product design, purchasing and quality. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of an enthusiastic DFM Specialists team of manufacturing experts from different competence areas with diverse expertise. We offer interesting tasks and the possibility to participate in production development but also develop yourself.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Assembly process planning with Teamcenter Manufacturing Process Planner (MPP) software
- Co-operation and involvement in product design and development projects to secure the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) for the new products and product types
- Validating the manufacturing processes and safety during the products' manufacturing by participating in the production at the different manufacturing locations and premises
- Reporting the validation results and improvement proposals
- Developing new ideas and concepts for the assembly, like creating new subassemblies, utilizing new technology and developing the current manufacturing methods
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:
- Suitable education (e.g. B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering)
- Experience in manufacturing and production processes, competence in engine automation and automation assembly is seen as an advantage
- Know-how in LEAN principles, assembly methods, tools and equipment
- Systematic and organized way of working and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Fluency in English and Finnish, other languages are seen as an advantage
