Wärtsilä Marine Power Solutions RDE, Automation & Controls is now looking for a Product Manager to lead A&C’s new automation system product development and lifecycle from all aspects end to end. In A&C we develop and maintain embedded engine control systems for all Wärtsilä engines.

Position information:


Location for this permanent position is Vaasa, Turku or Helsinki, Finland. We also offer possibilities for hybrid work.

Your typical day will include:


•    Responsible of A&C's new control system product both development and lifecycle phases
•    Sole ownership of the new automation product end to end
•    Development of the product
•    Industrialization of the product
•    Deployment of the product
•    Lead the virtual team consisting of product owners, technical leads and architects
•    You will be A&C’s Management Team member
•    You will report to the Director of A&C

 

What we expect from candidates:


•    At least eight years’ experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager for a complex product, preferably around embedded systems in industrial sector including product development and lifecycle stages
•    At least eight years’ experience in leading complex embedded systems or embedded software development projects as Project or Program Manager
•    At least five years’ experience of leading complex product with a virtual team of product owners, architects and technical leads
•    At least five years’ experience working in an organisation according to LeSS or SAFe operating models as a product owner, product manager, architect or technical lead
•    Proven excellent skills in stakeholder management, preferably in a multi-stakeholder set-up with controversial, competing needs
•    At least five years of experience in leading embedded systems suppliers or partners
•    At least five years’ hands on experience from embedded systems’ development as a developer, architect or technical lead
•    Excellent understanding of automation’s role for Wartsila Engines and Engines business
•    Fluent communication skills in English
•    Good understanding of Wartsila Engine products
•    Good understanding of Wartsila Engine Businesses
•    Master’s degree from Automation, Computer Science or other applicable area
•    Understanding of energy production or marine business is a plus
•    Curiosity to learn new things and continuously improve way of working
