Product Manager W14

Product Management within P&FS is a strategic and tactical function that creates and maintains the Lifecycle Strategy for Wärtsilä Products and Offerings. Our Product Managers enhance the product performance, striving for business growth and increased customer satisfaction through focus, change, and harmonisation.
We are now seeking an enthusiastic Product Manager W14 to join our skilled Small & Medium Bore Engines team. The role is offered as a permanent contract and the preferred location is Vaasa, Finland, but other Wärtsilä locations in Finland can also be considered. In accordance with our hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Product Ownership: Acting as Product Owner in Parts Services for the Wärtsilä 14 engine, ensuring product profitability and spare part availability in collaboration with partners.
- Business Growth: Driving growth and business success of the 4-stroke engine product portfolio in the Parts Services business.
- Continuous Improvement: Leading continuous improvement activities for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including obsolescence management, to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Product Development: Initiating, leading, and participating in product development projects and market launches with Sales and Marketing to achieve business objectives.
- Market Analysis: Conducting feasibility studies and market analysis for products and participating in customer listening events to excel in customer understanding and translate product knowledge into tangible value propositions.
- Sales Support: Providing product and solution assistance to Sales Support, Sales, and Customers.
- Team Collaboration: Bridging gaps between commercially and technically oriented teams and management.
- Strategy and Documentation: Creating and maintaining product strategy, roadmaps, and other relevant documents for defined products and offerings.
- Process Improvement: Participating in the continuous improvement of Product Management processes and tools.
The following will enable you to succeed in this role:
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Technical experience with Wärtsilä 4-stroke engines.
- Service business-oriented mindset with a customer-centric approach.
- Industry knowledge and ability to anticipate both Marine and Energy customer needs.
- Ability to convey our value to customers, driving sales.
- Strong focus on long-term goals and the ability to create a big picture.
- Ability to translate vision and customer needs into tangible actions.
- Ability to see business opportunities in technical solutions.
- SAP knowledge.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and networking skills.
- Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken. You will be at an advantage with Finnish or Swedish language skills.
- Open and flexible attitude and a collaborative team-player approach.
- Willingness to travel globally when needed.
