Project Engineer

We are now looking for a Project Engineer, to join our innovative Plant and Cell Development team.

 

Position information:

 

This position is permanent and the location for the position is in Vaasa, Finland. This job requires a determined and systematic approach to moving things forward, as well as thinking outside of the box.

 

What you will be doing?

 

Your main task is to manage, coordinate and implement special, testing, customer and development projects. The Plant and Cell Development team works as an expert in plant and cell projects. The main focus is primarily on the development of engine testing. You get to influence and participate in the rapidly developing engine testing environment. We offer a technically versatile and flexible environment where the focus is on the use and development of new plant and engine technologies. We act as an enabler of future engine technology.
 
As a Project Engineer, your work will include:

 

  • You have a big role in supporting the team with daily challenges and will work very closely with our team. Coach and empower, provide directions and lead things on the right track. Remove obstacles and solve challenges. An excellent technical understanding of product development, mechanical engineering, design solutions, manufacturing processes, and plant operations helps you collaborate with design experts and partners
  • Project management, scheduling, monitoring and reporting
  • Supporting site and subcontractor team during the installation & commissioning phase
  • Manage and maintain good reporting practices and document management
  • Ensure that mechanical as-built drawings are completed and communicated
  • Identification and coordination of materials, equipment and documentation received for plant and cell development projects

 

To succeed in this position, you are expected to:

 

  • An engineering degree corresponding to the job description
  • Self-propelling active personality with excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in using AutoCAD, NX and Teamcenter design tools
  • Finnish and English language skills are required, and Swedish skill is considered as an advantage
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and self-manage the workload

 

You will shine in this role if you have:

 

  • Previous knowledge of Marine or Energy projects
  • Previous experience working as a supervisor is considered an advantage
  • Experience in using SAP, Navisworks, Polarion and M-files
  • Project Management skills
  • Procurement skills
  • Negotiation skills & presentation skills
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Out-of-the-box thinking and innovative mindset
